Para mim despedir não é fácil. Ajuda muito pensar que nesta vida itinerante de professor se poderá voltar um dia. Por outro lado, fica uma sensação de vazio, pois é começado um trabalho com tanta dedicação que nunca se tem a possibilidade de dar continuidade.
Não poderia deixar de dedicar uma palavra de admiração por todo o Departamento de Línguas, que tive o privilégio de fazer parte. Um grupo coeso, trabalhador, prático e objectivo. Força e ânimo para continuarem o vosso óptimo trabalho.
Agradeço com muita ternura a todos os colegas que me acolheram com carinho e respeito pelo meu trabalho. Aprendemos todos os dias uns com os outros. É nesta partilha que nos enriquecemos como seres com a responsabilidade acrescida de educadores de uma sociedade futura. Tarefa cada vez mais árdua, mas temos que acreditar que é e será possível.

Hello everybody!
As you all know we are participating in a Comenius project
( www.comeniuswidehorizons.blogspot.com)

called "Wide Horizons", which includes 6 European countries and us.

This project will last till the end of next schoolyear ( 2009-2010)and you are all invited to participate with one of your classes, if you wish!
Next year, the theme will still have to do with traditions,tourism, culture BUT gastronomy will be added.

The 1st project meeting was held in Perafita ( in November 08) where the activities for this first year were planned. Then, we attended the 2nd meeting in Hania, Greece where some of the activities already finished were shown. We took the work done by the Primary school of Igreja, which is posted in the blog and also took the work done by the CEF students and EFA students, posted as well.

Last week, we arrived from the 3rd meeting in Alaçati, Çesme in Turkey. This meeting gave us the opportunity to show the work done by the CEF students on the topic "Tourism" (which is also posted on the blog) and compare it with the other partners`work who did the same.

This meeting also gave us the possibility to visit the Turkish school and understand its reality as well as get to know a bit about the Turkish lifestyle, traditions, gastronomy, religion and landscapes.

Keep in touch and next week you will have the chance to visit and enjoy the Comenius Exhibition we will set up at the school lobby.

Visita de João Hoffman à nossa escola

Foi um momento muito agradável na companhia do escritor João Hoffman. É com bastante facilidade que comunica com os alunos. Após uma entrevista previamente preparada, colocou os alunos de tal modo à vontade, que estes espontaneamente lhe colocaram perguntas bastante interessantes. Satisfizeram assim algumas curiosidades, uma vez que é um escritor bastante recente. Ganhou em 2008 o prémio literário Matilde Rosa Araújo, que distingue a primeira obra de um autor nacional no campo da literatura infanto-juvenil.

ST PATRICK`S DAY

Yes, St Patrick`s Day is coming - 17th MARCH -and so let me leave you with this class activity. I think students will enjoy it!
I`m going to try it!

St. Patrick's Pictionary Supplies:Chalkboard
Chalk
Eraser
Hat
Papers with St. Patrick's day objects written on them
Timer

How To Play:Put papers with St. Patrick's Day objects written on them into hat. Divide children into two groups. Flip a coin to see which team goes first. Invite a child from the playing team to approach the chalkboard, draw a slip of paper, and read it to themselves. On your mark, the child should then draw the object in hopes that his/her team members will guess the object on their paper. If the team guesses correctly, before time runs out, they score a point. If the playing team does not guess correctly the other team has five seconds to try to come up with the correct answer. If they guess correctly they score a point and it is their turn to play.

This game can be simplified for young players utilizing words such as: shamrock, gold, pot. Make more difficult for older players by using short phrases: lucky Irish, pot of gold, etc.
